India’s rapid renewable energy expansion has created grid balancing challenges, especially during peak demand and renewable intermittency. A large-scale storage system was needed to stabilize supply.
CESC deployed a multi-megawatt storage system with AI-based scheduling and WMS integration, enabling real-time frequency regulation, load shifting, and renewable smoothing.
The system improved grid reliability, reduced curtailment of renewables, and enhanced energy market efficiency.
This project is a model for integrating large-scale storage into rapidly evolving power grids.
